My trips

In this section you will be able to discover the trips I have made since my expatriation to Canada until today. I will try to give a global overview of my travels. My goal is not to promote the destinations but to tell and show my experiences.

To make it easier to understand, I have decided to list my travels by geographical area and chronologically.

TRAVEL IN

NORTH AMERICA

Montreal

Canada, March 2019

Montreal, in long form the City of Montreal, is the largest city in Quebec and the second most populated city in Canada, after Toronto and before Vancouver. It is located mainly on the river island of Montreal, on the St. Lawrence River in southern Quebec, of which it is the metropolis.

Montreal is, without exception, the party capital of Canada. It is a very lively city. The main part of Saint-Laurent Boulevard is actually on the Plateau Mont-Royal, which makes it possible to go from bar to bar, or from bar to discotheque very simply and quickly. Saint-Laurent Boulevard is the place where you can find the best clubs in Montreal. During my stay in Montreal I was lucky enough to come across Saint Patrick's week. A very well celebrated holiday here in Canada. We had the chance to visit the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts during the exhibition "Thierry Mugler : Couturissime".

Canada, September 2019

Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario, is one of Canada's major cities, located on the northwest shore of Lake Ontario. This dynamic metropolis includes a number of dizzying skyscrapers, dominated by the iconic CN Tower. I was able to visit Casa Loma and especially Old Toronto. While in Toronto, I also visited Niagara Falls. It was an incredible experience, I was completely amazed.

Toronto

Vancouver

Canada, October 2019

During the fall school vacations, I went with friends to Western Canada. We first went to Vancouver, which is a bustling port on the west coast of British Columbia. We visited the city by bike but also visited places like the Vancouver Art Gallery which is famous for its works by local artists. We also went to Lynn Canyon Park which is a park with many hiking trails, high bridges and waterways. I highly recommend the Samesun Youth Hostel which is an excellent location in central Vancouver, very near the Skytrain and less than 15 minutes' walk from BC Place Stadium, charming Granville Island and lively Gastown. It's also surrounded by the city's best clubs, shopping and restaurants.

The second step of this trip was to go to Seattle on the other side of the U.S. border, it is a city surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests. Seattle is well known as the fictitious city of the Grey's Anatomy series. Seattle is the largest city in the state of Washington, and a technology hub, whose metropolitan area is home to the headquarters of Microsoft and Amazon. The futuristic Space Needle tower we visited, a legacy of the 1962 World's Fair, is its most iconic monument. We also visited the well-known Pike Place Fish Market. My favorite visit was the Pop Culture Museum right next to the Space Needle. The Starbuck Reserve was also interesting.

Calgary & Banff National Park

Canada, October 2019

On the last leg of our great western Canadian journey, we decided to make an overnight stop in Calgary and enjoy 3 full days in the vast Banff Nature Park. Banff National Park is located in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, 120 km west of the city of Calgary, in the province of Alberta. It covers an area of 6,641 km². During this trip we focused on discovering the trails around Lake Louise. One of the most famous lakes in the park, enjoying a magical emerald colored water. We slept in the SameSun Youth Hostel which we highly recommend.

Nice

French Riviera, June-August 2020

Coming regularly to the French Riviera since I was a kid, I spent very relaxing vacations in Nice and its surroundings despite the post-Covid crisis. Having family and friends in the area, I always felt very comfortable. I took advantage of the vacations to rest and have a good time with friends. In fact, I have a classmate from Bordeaux who came to visit me as well as friends I met during my internship in Brussels. During these vacations I had the opportunity to go to Canne, Monaco, Ville-franche, Antibes, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and even to the Italian border in San Remo.
